Explore the High Line: Small Group Walking Tour
Overview
Explore one of New York City’s most creative urban transformations on a guided walk along the High Line. Once an abandoned elevated rail line, this former piece of industrial infrastructure has been reimagined into a public park that reshaped the West Side and inspired cities around the world.
As we walk the High Line, you’ll learn how this forgotten stretch of railway survived demolition, passed through a gritty chapter of city history, and emerged as a model of innovative urban design. Along the way, we discuss landscape architecture, public space, and the role the High Line played in transforming Chelsea and the surrounding neighborhoods.
From street art and modern architecture to river views and hidden details, your guide brings the park’s layers to life while placing it within the larger story of New York’s west side. This tour goes beyond the park itself, connecting design, history, and the city that grew up around it.
